This casino was worth the time to go to. The slot machines paid us good. They had several 25c one-line slot machines and even 5c one-line slot machines. A variety of slot machines made our trip there GREAT!!!9
the black hole, bottomless money pit,and the end of alot of marriges.i live up here in sonora, everyone that i know is sick of that place not paying up,EVER!ALSO do you notice if you think your winning, your not really, bet 5 quaters, win back 3.there goes that 20.00 I WISH THE GAMING COPS WOULD INVESTAGATE THIS BULL CRAP.YOU WOULD ALSO THINK MABYE SONORANS WOULD BOYCOT THAT PLACE,INSTEAD OF ALWAYS GOING BACK FOR MORE.thats just because there is nothing to do up here except stare at trees, and thats ok,but after a while, even a sewer smelling rip off of a sorry casino called black oak, black joke,up in smoke, only for rich foke..if your simi broke that place is gaurented to put your but in the poor farm.and if you get that feeling that your gonna win,so you start sinkin all your money into that one machine, think again..because thats just the subliminal messages being spoken over.and over behind there crappy pre recorded music.with all those millions you would think they would get a handle on there outhouse, and what about those cameras in the bathrooms, look up,isnt that illegal?1
Love this casino,we would much rather go to this casino than Chukchansi. We find the machines at Black Oak enjoyable and we never loose our shirts. The food is questionable but we have never made it to the fancy resturaunt upstairs. We also think the service is very good. Keep up the good work. 9
I have been here a number of times, and the decor is sure nice. I am a Video Poker player, and the selection of games is short and poor. They had some $ 9/6 JOB, but they are now gone. The paytables offered now are very, very poor. Everytime I come I just shake my head as I watch some people playing those triple play bonus poker games that pay even money on two pair. Folks- wake up, those are less than 90% games. Rip off games. This casino must make a huge profit on the gambling, and they obviously are not trying to attract a serious player. It looks like they are trying to attract the seniors with a few $20 bills to spend and lose. If VP is your game, stay away. The only place I have seen with worse paytables is Thunder Valley in Lincoln. 5
Friends and I stop in every chance we get.We have a great time. Stay for hours. We, well one of us always hit pretty good.Love the slots.7
I just got one thing to said, "What a joke". Bad food, tight machines.bad service. Go to another casino, you will be more happy.1
This is a nice, new casino in the foothills the surrounding area is just beautiful. If your traveling this area in general has alot to offer. My husband and I had heard that the casino opened a new fine dining restaurant called Seven Sisters. Let me say that this was not just a meal this was a dining experience. One of the best meals we've had since our last trip to Monterey. The food presentation and taste was fabulous and the service great! We spent a little time gambling after dinner and didnt really win anything but we didnt go there with that expectation. The decor was nice and many machines to choose from. There was some entertainment in the lounge lots of people looked like enjoying themselves. They have a real nice bowling alley downstairs with a great Sports Bar and an Arcade so good for the whole family if you have kids. We enjoyed our visit and will definately like to visit again9
Black Oak Casino is ridiculous. If you are driving from the bay area, good luck finding this place. I got lost and found myself in the middle of the woods. ... When I finally got there the smoke burned my eyes, and even the non-smoking gaming area was scorching. I was in non-smoking for 3 DAMN hours and nobody won anything. When I went back out to the smoking area, I still saw that no one (including me) was winning. During this excrutiating time no beverage server ever came by. I asked someone else wearing purple if they could get me a drink, and they laughed at me and walked away. There was simply no service being offered. I guess no one likes to work for a living. It also horrified me that someone asked me if I was interested in buying some drugs. Talk about trash. You would think that the security guards in Black Oak Casino would have a handle on trash coming into their establishment. Guess Not! The food was horrible, I never even finished my meal. I did not even tip. But I did have fun going to McDonalds down the road. There motto, "When it comes to fun, we re number one" is a load of bullcrap. I did not have fun. I certainly will never go back their again. And yes I will tell all my friends not to go there. My overall advise to anybody that visits Black Oak Casino, is do not go. You will lose all of your money to a trashy, overpriced, uptight, unfriendly, and dissapointing environment.1
New one is bigger, and a little nicer. More tables, but still no Pai Gow or Bac. No high limit play either. Enough machines to please most. Full bar now, with live bands is nice if you need a break from gambling. Only one restaurant, and the food was not that great.8
We've been to Black Oak three times since the new building opened now, and have always had a great time. Plenty of gaming action, now with the bigger tables section, we dont have much of a problem finding a seat to sit and play at. The new Bar and Lounge is so nice. They have had different types of music on stage everytime we've been there, and really enjoyed the bands. The Pit Bosses even gave us tickets to eat at the restaurant twice which was very nice. Its a great place to go have a good time, and we will return many times more.8
I like the new casino. It doesn't have the intimacies of the old building, but it is much more on the level of the others now. Didn't win on any of the machines, but I walked with $850 off a 3 card poker table. It was a fun night. The dealers and pit bosses were very friendly, and made the games fun. Full bar going now too. Maybe the drinks made it a little more fun, but I had a good time. If the food service gets on par with the rest, it will be a top class joint.7
Black Oak was much nicer than I had imagined. The new building is very nice. Plenty of machines and Tables to play at. Nice bar and lounge. The downstairs bowling alley was something else, and there was also a little sports bar, and hamburger counter. Something nice and different from any of the other casinos I've been to. The restaurant upstairs was where we ate. I must say the food could be better. $20 for the seafood buffet is a bit steep, and it was nowhere near the buffets most the other casinos have. All in all it was a nice trip, and we will be sure to return.7
The new and improved Black Oak is just that. More machines, which were no looser or tighter than any other casino. More tables to play at, though many of the dealers seemed like they had never even seen the games before. The Pit Bosses were earning their money fixing mistakes all night on the games. But it was still a nice play to play. The new bar had a live band which had the place jumping. The bowling alley was very nice, a great place if the kids are along for the ride. Parking was a bit of a hassle, but not too bad. The Cafe could be better, but if your starving, it will do. Just do go expecting a good meal. Its tolerable at best. Overall its a pretty nice place to go and get away.7
Drove to Black Oak last week with some friends. The new building is nice.More machines and table games. Lounge, bowling alley, and live entertainment is a huge step up from the old dive. It is very competitive with Jackson in all departments except parking and food. Had to park down the road, and ride the shuttle in ( which was pretty smooth for the inconvienience ), and the food is still disgusting. TV dinner quality meals should be an embarrasment to a place that is trying to step up its image. 6
Me and my husband drive up to Black Oak a couple times a month. The building is much nicer, the up grades were much needed. The machines are plenty for its size, with a decent variety. The expanded table games is very nice, no problems finding a place to sit now. I must say some of the dealers seem to make many mistakes, but it usually is paying us when we had a losing hand, so who can complain. The new Bar and lounge section is very nice, and the live music is a big plus. The cafe is the one section holding back the casino. The staff is usually rude at best. Our order is almost never correct, and the food is still downright poor. And the new bowling alley is something else. Very nice for a change of pace. Black Oak is a very nice place to visit, just dont go hungry if you can help it.5
Casino is nice place to gamble. The newlounge is nice to go have a drink or two. The restaurant is the only downfall. Absolutely horrible from the hostess to the food.7
We go to Black Oak two to three times a month. The new casino is much nicer than the old building. There is a decent variety of machines to choose from. It is still small compared to Thunder Valley or Cache Creek, but compares favorably with both, and Jackson also. Most of the table games dealers seemed friendly, but I must say, it did seem like some were not sure what the were doing, making MANY mistakes, usually paying when us when they shouldn't have, so who can complain. The biggest drawback is the restaurant. The food is absouletly horrible. We tried to eat a late dinner around 11:30, and were told ( rather rudley ) by the host at the register that we could only order off the late night menu, which consisted of a choice between a hamburger, or two other sandwiches. The only other choice was breakfast. We ordered each of us a sandwich, which was the driest I have ever had. The casino is a nice place to gamble, and the staff overall is polite. Just make sure you dont drive up hungry.6
Went to Black Joke casino. Boy they have a lot to learn. I must say I liked the new decor. The machines pay out nothing. I got friction burns from the money being sucked out of my hand. The buffet is a joke, compared to ANY other casino buffet this one is still in it's infancy. The salad bar had about 3 toppings and no bleu cheese dressing. We were there at about 7 am and they had one waitress on duty and everytime she saw me she turned and went the other way. So the service is in need of rebuilding. My wife needed change and she turned her change light on and no one showed up for quite some time. She looked over and there was about 4 change personel talking to one another having a good time but not doing there job. We go to lots of casinos, most much better than this. Oh yea one more thing, all the employees are in need of training. They're message to us is "we don't want your business". Jackson or Cache Creek is a farther drive for us BUT they treat us like they want our business. So in closing I will warn you that if you gamble to win something and to have a nice buffet DON'T go to Black Joke you will be sorry.....you have been warned. 1
Took a drive out to Black Oak w/ $40 in hand. Let me say that it was a long drive. Aside from that, the place was still under construction.(BIG MESS) Parking SUCKED BUTT!!!!They did however offer a shuttle from the parking lot to the casino to avoid anyone from getting hurt.(CONSIDERATE) Nice BJ dealers. Thought I might die from dehydration though. No waitress in sight!!!The dealer or pit boss would have to call them to our table after we would inquire about them. Once there, I ordered a beer and she charged 2.50 for it.OK..maybe I am a little spoiled from all my trips to Vegas where the liquor flows like water. I laughed as I paid and thought to myself that at least in Vegas or Reno they give you free drink (including Liquor)I did however seem to lose sight of the fact as I walked away with just over $500 of their money. Morale of the story...take the time to drive out to Reno or take a trip to Vegas.7
What a dive. Bad air, bad facilty, not enough table games. Disgusting snack bars and restaurants. Just horrible place to gamble. The most gross casino I have ever been to. 1
it's ok, but a lot of space to improve. 5
its a great place .Short trip from the bay area .Been going there since they opened up the new casino and like the place very muchespecially the non somking back room as i cant stand smoke. There is lots of penny machines and multipul machines and a good variety of mixed machines .friendly staff always cleaning machines when you need help usually help is there security guards are always courtious and frendly and always greeting you i always go back win or lose .Its a very friendly casino compared to some of the many casinos ihave been to.Only thing is the food is not that great can do better .10
The Black Oaks casino is a mid-size casino in the Mountains. Currently there is construction for a new casino requiring you to take a shuttle from the parking to the casino. It is 8 miles from the highway and a little out of the way. There was no players club to join. It has a moderate selection of machines with too many $1/$5 machines and not enough .25 machines. Our Slot machine test 4 losers and 2 winners. No wait at the cashiers, two were friendly; one was not. The location has a great view in the mountains. The food at the Black Oaks Café was good. I plan to go back once the construction is done. 6
Very nice Casino. Black Oak is expanding to double in size in December of 2004. The service was wonderful, the Gaming area was clean, and the employees are very friendly.9
